We maintain a list of Ontario residents eligible to vote in provincial elections called the Permanent Register of Electors for Ontario, more commonly known as the voters list. To be eligible, you must be 18 years of age or older, a Canadian citizen and a resident of Ontario.
You can use eRegistration to add, update or confirm your information on the voters list if you:
- change your address;
- change your name; or
- become eligible to vote.
Elections Ontario maintains the voters list on an ongoing basis using information from federal, provincial and municipal sources, or through direct updates from voters. Learn more about how we share voter information.
If you are on the voters list when an election is called in your electoral district, we will mail you a voter information card with information about when and where to vote.
You will need to provide one piece of ID with your name and current residential address. Find examples of acceptable ID needed to add, update or remove your information on the voters list.
You can also complete an application form and return it to us by:
- email to firstname.lastname@example.org with an attached copy of your ID; or
- mail with a photocopy of your ID.
