Eligibility for provincial elections

For the Kitchener Centre by-election, after November 20, use Voter Registration to confirm your voter information. You can still update or add your voter information when you go to vote.

To be eligible to register for an Ontario provincial election, you must be:

  • 18 years of age or older;
  • a Canadian citizen; and
  • a resident of Ontario.

Search the Register to confirm, update or add your information to the Register by providing one piece of ID and/or other required documentation.

Alternatively, you can complete a paper application form.

Individuals who are temporarily residing outside of Ontario may be eligible to add themselves as an absentee voter.

Individuals who are 16 or 17 years old may be eligible to add themselves as a future voter.
