Toronto Centre Electors go to the Polls: Provincial By-election Called for February 4

TORONTO — Electors in the Electoral District of Toronto Centre will go to the polls on Thursday, February 4, confirmed Ontario’s Chief Electoral Officer Greg Essensa.

The by-election is resulting from the resignation of George Smitherman.

Important dates during the election period include:

Nomination of Candidates

January 14 to January 21 at 2 p.m.

Notice of Registration cards mailed

January 19

Returning Office Advance Poll

January 23 to January 28, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Area Advance Polls

January 26 to January 28, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Election Day

February 4, polls open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
