TORONTO – April 29, 2004 – Qualified voters in the May 13 provincial by-election in Hamilton East who are unable to vote on Election Day may vote at Advance Polls over the coming week, starting this Saturday.
Advance Polls will be open 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the office of the Returning Officer from Saturday, May 1 to Friday, May 7 (Sunday excluded).

In addition, Area Advance Polls will be open 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Wednesday, May 5 to Friday May 7 at:
- Rosedale Arena, 100 Greenhill Avenue, Hamilton
- Norman Pinky Lewis Recreation Centre, 192 Wentworth Street North, Hamilton
- Riverdale Community Centre, 150 Violet Drive, Hamilton
Qualified voters who did not receive a Notice of Registration card and have not added their names to the Voters List may apply for a Certificate to Vote at the Advance Poll and cast their ballot while there.

To be eligible to vote, on polling day a person must be:
- 18 years of age or older,
- a Canadian citizen, and
- a resident of the electoral district of Hamilton East.
