When a registered third party’s own funds are used for that third party’s election advertising expenses those funds must be recorded and reported in the election advertising report.

Once the election period has begun with the issuing of the election writ(s) on the day of the writ, a third party that spends $500 or more of their own funds on election period advertising expenses must register with the Chief Electoral Officer.
