Information for canvassers and anyone conducting surveys

• It is an offence under the Election Act to falsely represent yourself as working for Elections Ontario, a candidate, a constituency association, or a political party.
  
  
• It is an offence under the Election Finances Act to publish, broadcast, or transmit to the public on October 6, before 9 p.m. (ET), the results of an election survey that have not previously been made available to the public. This applies to any opinion survey of how electors voted or will vote or respecting an issue with which a political party or candidate is associated.
